Junior Learning Communities

In the junior school in a developmental way, teachers listen, observe, interact and learn from the child, with the emphasis on the development of relationships, student wellbeing and student engagement. This is supported by an indoor/outdoor flexible use of space, and an aesthetically pleasing environment for the children to work in. The program in the early years focuses on student engagement through their own investigations and interests. It offers a balanced authentic curriculum alongside teacher scaffolding and explicit teaching.

A play-based approach to Contemporary Learning in the early years is built on our beliefs and understandings that children who engage in complex forms of socio-dramatic play have greater language skills, better developed social skills, empathy, and imagination.
