Sustainability

Staff and students at St Therese Primary School are committed to looking after our environment, both locally and globally. We strongly believe in living as sustainably as we can and always look for ways to lessen our impact on the earth’s resources.

In 2009 St Therese joined the National Framework for Sustainability in Schools, the Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative (AuSSI). This program provides us with professional development and allows us to consult with experts to assist us in becoming more sustainable by undertaking actions such as: increasing biodiversity in the local area, reducing water use, greenhouse gas emissions and solid waste output.

Sustainability is incorporated into daily school life through areas such as student action teams, Contemporary Learning Investigations, technology, guest speakers and engaging with local environmental groups.
